Announcing Ignite London 6 Date – Thursday 3rd May

Following on from the continued success of Ignite London 5 in November 2011, the Ignite London Committee are very pleased to announce that Ignite London 6 will be held on Thursday 3rd May 2012 again in 93 Feet East in Brick Lane, Shoreditch. We really hope you will enjoy another evening with us which we are sure will have an amazing line up of speakers and a wide variety of subjects.  If you want to know what Ignite is all about – check out the videos of our previous 5 events.

Have you got a passion, idea or story which you would like to share with London in 5 minutes?  Why not follow in the footsteps of our previous speakers such as Dr. Chris Lintott, Cory Doctorow, Steve Bowbrick and Tom Scott? Look out for The Call for Speakers to be announced next week on this site and via twitter and submit your idea via this website. Ignite London will again be free to attend in the audience, and entry vouchers will again be distributed via Eventbrite nearer the date.

We are sure it will be another great night of rapid fire enlightenment at the one and only Ignite London. If you first heard about us via our recent appearance on BBC Radio 4′s Word of Mouth show, then we look forward to welcoming you to find out what an Ignite event is all about.

Ignite London 5 Featured on BBC Radio 4′s Word of Mouth Programme on 17th Jan

Those observant amongst you at our Ignite London 5 event last November may have noticed a chap wandering around with a BBC Radio jacket and a microphone.  Well this gentleman, Toby Field (also a previous Ignite Bristol Organiser), is a Producer of BBC Radio 4′s Word of Mouth Programme.  He attended our last event to record and interview for a programme about the new wave of public speaking events such as Ignite and TED etc.  So if you would like to hear yourself on National Radio then tune into the show entitled “Public speaking, show & tell” on Tuesday 17th Jan at 4pm or listen to it on BBC iPlayer.

Just about recovered from a brilliant Ignite London 5! We need to say a big big thank you to you all!

To all of those who came along and had a jolly good time, to all the amazing speakers, to 93 Feet East for being a most excellent venue, to the Eventbrite London team who came and scanned tickets with the great Eventbrite app and to Internet Week Europe for the heart shaped stickers. Also to everyone who let us know beforehand if they couldn’t make it, so we could give their ticket to someone on the waitlist. And finally a very big thanks to our very own Andy taking to the stage with a kilt! Every one of you has made Ignite London #5 what it was, an absolute blast!

Remember that if you were lucky enough to secure a ticket, please be inside 93 Feet East by 7:30pm.  After this time (if you are not in the queue) your place may be given to someone waiting on the door. If you know you won’t be able to make it then please email us on tickets@ignitelondon.net so we can reallocate your ticket to one of the many eager people on our waitlist.

Reminder: Batch 2 IgniteLDN5 tickets released on Sunday 30th Oct, at 7pm

Reminder that the 2nd batch of free ticket vouchers for Ignite London #5 will be released on Sunday 30th October 2011 at 1900.

Right …the 2nd batch of tickets will be released over on Eventbrite on Sunday

Although admission is free, we are using a ticket system so that people can ensure their admission at what we imagine will be a sold out event.

• Your ticket only guarantees you admission if you arrive by 7:30 pm (doors open at 7 pm). At 7:30 pm, we will begin to let people in at the door and your ticket will no longer guarantee you anything.

93 Feet East has quite a big capacity, so if you don’t manage to snap up any of this batch of tickets, don’t despair because we will be releasing one more batch on Tuesday 1st November 2011 at 1230. Tickets are limited so please, only take one if you are able to attend. If something happens and your plans change, let us know so that we can free your ticket up for someone who can use it.
